まったく、ひどい大会だ
Pacific Science Congressがおわりました。この最後の日、まだいくつかのセッションがあったが初日の2~3割程度の参加者しかのこっていない。ま、これはどの大会でもありえるが半分以上の発表者がドタキャン。要旨集に名前と課題をのせただけだ。
So the Pacific Science Congress is finished. On the last day, there were a number of sessions on-going, how ever 20 ~ 70% of the speakers never showed up! This isn't so unusual, but having more then half of the speakers to not show up is really bad. So all they did was get their abstract into the abstract book.
みんなイイカゲンだ！

しかも、インドからきた博士課程の学生の発表のひどいこと。図もない、写真もない、統計もない。文字だらけの白いパワーポイント。会場の先生方はみんなやさしかった。「院生だからこそ、失敗してもいいんだよ」だってさ。
I think I had the displeasure of listening to the most terrible presentation I have ever seen. So, this PhD student from India begins his talk. No photos, no figures, and no stats. Maybe a table or two. Oh, and his slides where monochrome (i.e., black and white). All text. Boy, the professors left in the audience were really nice. "Students have all the time to learn" says one of them.
あきれた。

今夜の２３：３０分のKAL便で帰国。福岡につくのは０８：００ごろかな。
Tonight, I get on the red-eye flight on KAL and go to Incheon Airport. I arrive in Fukoka around 8 am.
明々後日は長崎丸に乗船し、沖縄へ。
Two days after tomorrow, I board the Nagasaki-maru and go to Okinawa.
今回のスケジュールは本当にまずい。大会～乗船～沖縄高専。
This years schedule is the pits. Congress -> boat -> Okinawa (coral experiment)
普通の生活にもどるのは7月4日？
So I get my life back after July the 4th?
