Nishihara Laboratory

二日目のゼミの終了後、交流施設の下にある待ちの現地調査を行った。K村くんのおすすめで、阿蘇神社へ。まったく前もって調べていなかったが、阿蘇神社では流鏑馬をしていた。 After the second day's seminar was complete, we went to survey the surrounding town below the facility where we stayed. Mr. K recommended Aso Shrine, and we we lucked-out, since they were had a Yabusame ceremony underway. 昼食はどこの店に言ったのか忘れたが、タカナ飯とダゴ汁はおいしかった。 We had lunch at some restaurant, whose name I forgot, and had some takana-rice and dago soup. ところどころにいど（？）もあった。 There were springs here and there.  やっと、天然の水草もみつけた。 And I finally encountered some freshwater plants, that were not in an aquarium.

2日目の朝からは０６：００起床、07：00までに掃除。そして朝の集いとたいそう。たっぷりの朝食をとったあと、午前のゼミを開始。ドクターのN塚くんが4章を紹介し、Kべ研のIばさんとWなべくんが5章の紹介をした。  On the second day of our special seminar in Aso, we woke up at 6 am, "cleaned house" by 7 am, and went through the morning meeting and calisthenics. After a big breakfast, we got going with the second half. Mr. N presented Chapter 4, Ms. I and Mr. W presented Chapter 5. これは個人的な意見ではないと思うが、ほとんどの学生は一生懸命テキストを読み、できるだけ理解し、とても素晴らしい発表をしたとおもう。Kむらくんも以外とセンスのいいスライドをつくってくれたので、うれしいです。  I don't think this is just my personal opinion, but I think the students did a really good job at reading and understanding the English text, as well as presenting the chapters they were assigned. I'm just happy that Mr. K made slides with artistic sense.! 今年始めて行った合同ゼミナールは毎年できたらいいですね。 I'm sure that we will be doing this every year from know on. Just a view of our room. A view of the surroundings.

昨日は活動たっぷりの一日だった。 Yesterday was a rather eventful day. 相変わらず、熊本市から阿蘇までの道は混んでいた。 The trip from Kumamoto City to Mt. Aso was congested as usual. ついたら、まずは施設の説明と注意事項をうける。ここは結構厳しいとわかった。そのご、研修室に移動して早速ゼミを開始。内容はようそう以上のおおかったので、3章しかできなかった。 Once we arrived, we immediately received a detailed briefing about the facility and regulations. Pretty strict place. Right after the briefing, we started the seminar. With all the lost time, we could only go through 3 chapters that day. 写真は夕べの集いの様子。4年の男子が担当してくれた。 The photo was taken during the evening ceremony, and two of our 4th year students took part.

今日から阿蘇へ。Kべ研とKばた研と合同ゼミをするためにいっている。クレブズのエコロジーのテキストの輪読をする。 Today, we are if to Mt. Aso in Kumamoto for a seminar. The students will take turns explaining one chapter from Krebs Ecology text. 予定していたフェリーに乗れなかったので、ちょっと後れている。まだ熊本市。 We missed the ferry that we were planning to take, so we are a bit behind schedule.
